CHIESA DI S. FRANCESCO SAVERIO
Edificata nel 1752 e dedicata al culto di S. Francesco Saverio, la Chiesa è stata durante la I guerra mondiale (1915-1918) adibita ad ospedale militare.
Dagli anni ’30 del secolo scorso è più nota agli avellinesi come Chiesa di S. Rita.
Al suo interno conserva delle pregevoli tele del ‘700, alcune delle quali dipinte da Fedele Fischetti, autore tra l’altro degli affreschi della Reggia di Caserta.
ST. FRANCESCO SAVERIO’S CHURCH
It was built in 1752 and dedicated to the cult of St. Francesco Saverio, the Church was during the first World War (1915-1918) used as a military hospital.
From the 30s of last century it is better known to Avellinesi as St. Rita’s Church. It hosts a number of valuable paintings of ‘700, some of them painted by Fedele Fischetti, author of, among other things, the frescoes of Caserta Palace.
