Costruita agli inizi del XVI secolo per essere dedicata al culto di San Gennaro, che in quel tempo era uno dei dodici compatroni della città di Avellino, nel 1878 venne,a seguito dei danni subiti dallo straripamento del retrostante Torrente Fenestrelle quasi totalmente ricostruita e consacrata al culto della Madonna della Salette, principiato nella Città di Avellino durante il decennio napoleonico e man mano diffuso sempre più, specie tra i ceti più umili della cittadinanza.
Attualmente l’ edificio religioso è stato concesso dalla Diocesi di Avellino alla comunità greco-ortodossa presente in città.

SALETTE OUR LADY ’S CHURCH
It was built at the beginning of sixteenth century to be devoted to the cult of San Gennaro, who, at that time, was one of the twelve-patrons of the city of Avellino, in 1878 it was a result of damage caused by the overflowing torrent Fenestrelle in the rear almost completely rebuilt and consecrated to the cult of Our Lady of the Salette, begun in the Town of Avellino during the Napoleonic years and as more and more popular, especially among the lower classes of citizenship. Actually the religious building was granted by the Diocese of Avellino to the greek and orthodox community that is present in the city.
