L’edificio religioso posto tra la “Casa Canonica della Cattedrale” e il Palazzo Amoretti in Piazza Duomo venne costruito nel 1780 su progetto dell’arch. Oronzo De Conciliis per ospitare la Confraternita dell’Immacolata Concezione.
Al suo interno conserva numerose opere di indiscusso valore storico-artistico, tra queste un gruppo statuario raffigurante la Madonna del Carmine con Bambino del XVII secolo, proveniente dall’antica Chiesa del “Carminiello”, un tempo sita in Via Nappi ( abbattuta negli anni ’60 del secolo scorso) e tre tele raffiguranti rispettivamente l’ Immacolata Concezione, San Gennaro e San Modestino, attribuiti al pittore salernitano Angelo Michele Ricciardi (1672-1753) e provenienti dalla Cappella della Dogana di Avellino.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION’S FELLOWSHIP The religious building located between the "canonical house of the Cathedral and Amoretti Palace in Piazza Duomo was built in 1780 on a project of the Architect Oronzo De Conciliis to give hospitality to the Confraternity of the Immaculate Conception.
In its interior it hosts many works of unquestionable artistic and historical value, among them a group of statues depicting the Madonna del Carmine with Child of the seventeenth century from the old church of "Carminiello" formerly located in Nappi Street (demolished in the 60s of last century) and three canvases representing respectively the Immaculate Conception, St. Gennaro and St.Modestino attributed to the salernitan painter Angel Michael Ricciardi (1672-1753) and coming from the Chapel of the Dogana of Avellino.
