PALAZZO DE PERUTA
Edificato agli inizi del XIX secolo dalla famiglia De Peruta, appartenente alla ricca borghesia cittadina, fu acquistato nel 1856 dall’Amministrazione Provinciale con l’intento di adibirlo a Caserma dei Carabinieri, non risultando però idoneo a tale uso fu ceduto dall’Amministrazione Provinciale all’Amministrazione Comunale in cambio del “Padiglione Militare” (attuale palazzo Litto) di Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
Per giusto un secolo (dal 1880 al 1980) ha ospitato gli uffici del Comune di Avellino. Attualmente è sede dell’Ufficio del Giudice di Pace.
DE PERUTA PALACE It was built since the beginnings of XIX century by the De Peruta family, belonging to the rich city middle class, it was purchased in 1856 by the Provincial administration with the intent to turn it to the Barracks of the Policemen, not resulting however fit to such use it was surrendered by the Provincial administration to the Town administration in exchange for the "Military Tent" (actual Litto Palace) of Vittorio Emanuele Avenue.
For just one century (from 1880 until 1980) it has given hospitality the offices of the Town Administration of Avellino. Today it is the center of the office of the Judge of Peace.
