Costruita alla fine del XVI secolo per ospitare il veneratissimo affresco raffigurante la Madonna di Costantinopoli, proveniente da una antica cappella della zona, la chiesa nel corso dei secoli XVIII e XIX ha subito una serie di trasformazioni che l’hanno portata all’assetto attuale.
Al suo interno conserva un pregevole altare in marmo policromo con due angeli attribuiti alla Scuola di Cosimo Fanzago e una deposizione di modesta fattura ma di alto valore documentario, in quanto costituisce l’unico esempio di pittura locale del 600 pervenutaci.

ST. MARY’S FROM CONSTANTINOPOLI CHURCH
It was built at the end of sixteenth century to give hospitality to the venerated fresco, representing Our Lady from Constantinopoli, which comes from an old chapel in the area, the church during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries has undergone a series of transformations that have given to it the actual arrangement. In its interior it gives hospitality to a fine polychrome marble altar with two angels assigned to the School of Cosimo Fanzago and a deposition of modest invoice, but of high documentary value, because it constitutes the only example of local painting of 600 has come down.
